Lord Birdwood

Mark Birdwood; educated Radley; Trinity College, Cambridge, read engineering, anthropology, and fine arts.  Commissioned, Royal Horse Guards, Cyprus (active service) '57/'59.

J. Walter Thompson (copywriter); Creative Director of another London agency.  Development Director for Cambridge Consultants (now Cambridge Communications).  Thereon (last thirty-plus years) he has operated in executive search: Boyden International, co-founded Wrightson Wood and for the last seventeen years has been a solo with his own vehicle, Martlet.

Chairman of Steeltower Ltd (and other SPV's), property development companies which he co-founded.  Presently on one quoted company board.  (Removed himself from two others when start-up task completed).

Mark is a trustee of two charities.  He was on the Select Committee for Science and Technology until Lords reform removed him from Parliament after thirty-seven years' service.  He is an honorary Research Associate of the Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Sciences at the London School of Economics.  He is a patron of Mansfield College, Oxford.

Ron Leagas

Ron started his marketing career with Pfizer (pre Viagra) progressing from graduate trainee through market research and brand management roles before switching to the agency side. He joined one year old Saatchi and Saatchi as head of Marketing and Planning; he was part of the management team which took Saatchi's to number one positon during his nine years with them,latterly as Managing Director. He founded Leagas Delaney and Leagas Shafron Davis and recently created integrated agency BLAC.
